I have a limited quantity of the spectacular 1994 Urbina Rioja Gran Reserva to offer you, 92pts Parker’s WA with a drinking window of 2010 – 2025. The wine is for free for what’s in the bottle. The 1994 vintage is one of the all-time greats, the second highest rating he has given a vintage back to 1970. The wine has come together superbly developing further complexities and amazing length on the finish.

Bodegas URBINA is a family farm, with four generations dedicated to the cultivation of the vine and wine making. Since 1870, they own 75 hectares of vineyards with a focus on producing quality wines. The wines come from two different areas in Rioja, grapes from Cuzcurrita, the westernmost area of D.O.C. Rioja, which produces wines with a great capacity for aging, suitable for the Great Reserva's and the vineyards of Uruñuela, located in the heart of the denomination and richness and bouquet to the wines. They own some of the oldest vines in Rioja adding tremendous depth and concentration. Experience how special a wine gets with time in the cellar. The 1994 Gran Reserva Especial (from a great vintage) is medium ruby colored with a lovely bouquet of cherry blossom, earth notes, spice box, leather, black cherry, and plum. On the palate it is multifaceted, elegant, concentrated, impeccably balanced, and holding strong. It should drink nicely for another 10-15 years if not longer.
