Sandrone has 11 parcels throughout the Barolo region planted to Dolcetto. These plots are all planted on limestone rich soil at high altitudes. After fermentation the best lots are chosen and blended to create one Dolcetto bottling. Fermented entirely in stainless steel, the wine is released after a short time of bottle aging. Dolcetto translates to “little sweet one” and is a wine that provides immediate appeal on release for its fruity personality. Antonio Galloni gives us this review on the just released 2018 Dolcetto, “The 2018 Dolcetto d'Alba is elegant, super-refined and all class. The 2018 shows all the richness that is typical of the Sandrone Dolcetto, but in a more slender style that is actually very appealing. There is plenty of varietal character in the dark fruit, spice and licorice flavors, but the 2018 is more about persistence than size. I loved it, 90 Points”.
