Bergstrom Wines is a family owned and operated artisan producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which was started in 1999 by Dr. John and Karen Bergstrom, with the help of their son Josh Bergstrom and his wife Caroline. Josh is general manager, vineyard manager and winemaker and pulls his expertise from his education in Burgundy, France and his 14 years experience making wines in Oregon's Northern Willamette Valley. Bergstrom focuses on hand crafting small lots of wines from their fice estate vineyards carefully chosen from fice of Oregon's six wine growing appellations. All estate acreage is farmed biodynamically and all wines express the wonderful diversity of Oregon's many great terroirs.

The mighty Shea Vineyard lies smack dab in the middle of the Yamhill Carlton AVA, an area known for its ancient and shallow sandy soils on beds of Sandstone and Shale. This vineyard's name conjures up images of large scaled, hedonistic wines of great spice and ripe fruit character. Bergstrom Wines believes in working with only Oregon's greatest vineyard sites that are consistently in the upper echelon of terroir, farming practices and wine quality, and we believe that the Shea Vineyard is one of these sites. We have invested in long term agreements with Dick Shea for 10% of the entire Shea Vineyard to be harvested and vinified at Bergstrom and bottled under our label. This enormous investment into this great vineyard site ensures that we are capturing the true essence of the Shea Vineyard every year and consistently providing you with the best bottlings from this vineyard year after year.

Tasting Notes: Wine Advocate 90 points- The 2015 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard has a vibrant pale to medium ruby purple color and delivers notes of strawberry tart, raspberry preserves and mulberries with hints of garrigue, dried lavender and cinnamon stick. Medium to full bodied, rich, soft, rounded and plush in the mouth, it fills the palate with spice laced voluptuous fruit and finishes with great persistence..August/2017

Vinous 94 points- Deep red. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red and dark berries, exotic spices and candied flowers, and a smoky mineral nuance emerges as the wine stretches out. Juicy, focused and seamless in texture, offering intense raspberry, bitter cherry liqueur and candied rose flavors that deepen on the back half. Delivers a suave blend of depth and delicacy and finishes extremely long and juicy; velvety tannins shape the sappy fruit..January/2018
