When Alex Guarachi came to the United States in the 1970s, he noticed that Chilean wine was not available. He vowed to change this and was one of the first importers to introduce South American wine to the American public. Twenty five years of serving as the founder and president of TGIC Importersthe leading American importer of South American wine Alex Guarachi decided bring the passion and spirit of his own cultural experience to your dinner table. Today, the Guarachi Family introduces you to the finest from their hearts and their homeland in California.

After a quarter century of tasting, judging and assisting in the production of wines for other wineries, Alex finally realized a lifelong dream of producing his own wines with the inaugural bottling of three Guarachi Family Wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These bold, rich and stylish bottles come from prominent vineyards and appellations in Sonoma and Napa counties. The wines were created with the help of one of Alex's close friends: internationally renowned winemaker, Paul Hobbs.

Tasting Notes: Wine Enthusiast 94 points- This 100% varietal wine comes from two stellar sites: Broken Rock on Atlas Peak and Las Piedras, an appropriately gravelly site farmed by Andy Beckstoffer. Together, they yield magic a thick, juicy and well integrated layering of red cherry, clove and cigar that exudes a strong barrel presence and structured tannin profile.

Wine Spectator 92 points- The initial push of vivid raspberry and currant picks up herb and earth notes, gaining a measure of elegance and grace before ending with firm tannins. Best from 2019 through 2030.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 90 points- The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa is a beauty, with loads of chocolate, creme de cassis and licorice. This full bodied, opulent, fleshy wine has a dense purple color, big, juicy fruit, impressive purity, and a long, rich finish. This wine is drinkable now and should continue to evolve for another 12 15+ years.

James Suckling 90 points- A big, rich style with lots of grape skin and ripe berry character. Full body, soft tannins and a savory finish. Soft and round texture. Drink or hold.
