“It is definitely one of the wines of the vintage.” Robert Parker

Spotteswoode makes one of Napa’s most iconic Cabs. Year in year out demand is huge, 2014 marks the 35th anniversary of this great wine and 2014 is one of the finest vintages ever for the wine. The wine received a huge 96pts by three leading wine critics: Parker, Suckling and Galloni all 96pts. The 2014 Spottswoode Cabernet is a glorious wine. The wine displays power and elegance with dense, focused precision like few Cabernet’s can achieve. I also have the 2014 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet that received 94pts by Galloni also in huge demand made from a mix of estate fruit and some carefully selected growers. The track record of Spottswoode in Napa has very few equals. Under the guidance of the Novak family and with the help of the who’s who of great Napa wine makers starting with Tony Soter, including others greats Mia Klein and Rosemary Cakebread, Andy Erickson interned and today Aaron Weinkauf. They have been able to stamp their style and imprint on this tremendous vineyard. Truly a First Growth of Napa.

96+pts Parker; 96pts Galloni and 96pts Suckling

Gorgeously opaque purple, it offers up notes of spring flower, blueberries, black currants, some baking spice and graphite. It is full bodied, concentrated and rich, with layers of fruit. The wine builds and builds on the palate, with a great finish of 45+ seconds. This is a sensational 2014 to drink over the next 20+ years.
