Description Build A Case!

Pinot lovers this wine is a stunner at the price. Oregon has taken the lead for great, true Pinot Noir. The wines have the balance, complexity and length of great red Burgundy with an added clean fruit component that opens these wines up to the palate easier, more accessible. Today’s 2015 Maysara McMinnville Three Degrees Pinot Noir is a great example at a truly reasonable price. Proof is that Eric Asimov, New York Times wine critic has picked it two years in a row not only as his top choice but also his top value, the wine will sell out in a matter of minutes. The 2014 vintage beat wines like Belle Pente Pinot Noir which sells for twice the money. It also positioned itself ahead of wines from Bergstrom and Archery Summit.

Maysara is owned by Joe and Moe Momtazi purchased an abandoned wheat farm in McMinnville back in 1997, there they purchased 200 hectares of vineyards and saw the potential for great Pinot Noir. They planted Pommard Clone, and have had so much success that McMinnville is now one of the seven new AVA’s in Oregon focusing on Pinot Noir. Today’s wine is sourced all from the Momtazi Vineyard and was designed to make a Pinot that Tastes great, sourced from the finest grapes all while being affordable. Definitely a wine to buy by the case.

Two Years Running New York Times Top Pinot Noir Pick

The McMinnville wine was described as “Fresh, taut and penetrating, with pretty aromas of flowers and red fruits, and tart, stony flavors.” The wine also was chosen as the Best Value thanks to the approachable price of $25. Tannins are silk & satin, and acidity is plentiful.” The top wines from the tasting were described as “fresh and energetic”, which certainly sums up the wines from Maysara’s biodynamic Momtazi vineyard.

This wine comes from the warmer McMinnville area in the central Willamette and was also made from biodynamically farmed grapes. “The 3 Degrees 2015 Pinot Noir has a delightful crisp red cherry and wild strawberry bouquet that offers fine delineation. On palate the wine is well balanced with taut tannin, black plum and cranberry towards the supple finish. Enjoy over the next 3–5 years.” - Robert Parker
