For years I have stated to my customers that one of our biggest challenges is to find HIGH QUALITY Pinot Noir from California, especially under $20. The number of wines that I taste in order to ferret out true quality is staggering. So many of the wines are sub-par, not even close to what I want to offer.

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, the crunch was on because NOTHING is better with Thanksgiving fare than great Pinot Noir. The 2014 Paraiso Pinot Noir is a 90 point gem that has been summed up perfectly by Wine Enthusiast as a “perennial great value Pinot.” This wine floored me; it was so good in fact that we went with a big allocation, which allows us to offer it at a great price of $18.99, which is a 35% savings. Making this wine even more appealing was the excellent 2014 Central Coast Pinot vintage, which Robert Parker scored 94 points, the highest in the last 10 years. The 2014 vintage was almost perfect; it was a massive vintage that produced high quality wines.

The 2014 Paraiso Pinot Noir knocked my socks off. It is the best under $20 Pinot we have had this year. Pronounced Pa-rye-zo, the name the Spanish explorers gave the mountainside hundreds of years ago, the wine is from California’s pristine Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey. The region benefits from the cool breezes from the chilly Monterey Bay and is perfect for growing fantastic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Father and son team, Rich and Jason Smith oversee more than 3,000 acres within the region. In addition to making wines, their grapes are sold throughout California to Pinot winemakers looking for the best. Because this is a family endeavor (they have been making wines for 35 years) one that they hope to continue for generations, they make their wines in a responsible manner, and all of their vineyards are Certified Sustainable.

My advice is to back up the truck and buy this for Thanksgiving and beyond. It is a wonderful opportunity.

Caymus stands for quality. Customers don’t hesitate to spend $70 on a bottle Caymus, this wine tastes like $70 but can be had for under $20. The wine is brought to us by Joseph Wagner of the Caymus Wagners.
After conquering the Cabernet world he moved on to Pinot Noir and absolutely crushed it with Belle Glos and Meiomi. This the latest vintage of Elouan Oregon Pinot Noir and once again he's making it look easy. He has stuck to his Philosophy, sourcing from top vineyards from the best Pinot regions, going for a richer, rounder supple style. Grapes are sourced from Willamette, Umpqua and Rogue Valley. The 2016 Elouan Pinot Noir is definitely more richer, bigger fruit, more complex while maintaining vibrant acidity that Oregon Pinot Noir is famous for. 2015 is another strong vintage for Oregon Pinot Noir, This is delicious Pinot Noir that I tasted with other top wines from the region that sell for $60 to $70 a bottle and this wine was just as good. We have an insane price on the wine down to $18.99 saving you 34% and making this a great case buy. At this price we will sell out, first come first served. This is a must have!

This Elouan Pinot Noir is richer and more full bodied than what is typical of Oregon Pinot Noir, which generally is very lean. Bright ruby red in color. Ripe cranberry, sweet cinnamon and fresh cherry create an inviting bouquet, with a subtle earthiness. The palate shows texture and weight with firm acidity that carries the flavor through. The flavor profile shows red plum, bright cherry, minerality, dusty earth, and a hint of sweet tobacco, creating rustic layers of flavor with soft refined tannins.
