93 Pts RP r <b>Tasting Notes:</b> Relic are some of the hottest wines coming out of California. Wines are made by rock-star winemaker Mike Hirby who is now making wines for some of Napa’s finest: Realm, DR Stephens, Husic, Saroka and Winter Wines. Only 10 cases of the wine made it to the state. 2008 in Napa Valley yielded Cabernet Sauvignon with stunning upfront fruit and unctuous textures, If the vineyard was managed with extreme attention to detail. We were careful and lucky enough to have done the work needed and now find ourselves with a gorgeous wine to present to you. The aromatics are ripe and fruity, with sweet spice and chocolate notes not far behind. The palate has great fruit and extract without being heavy and is framed by full, ripe tannins that coat the mouth, allowing the finish to blossom. 350 cases made. Robert Parker:

Big rich, opulent and massivey concentrated. Parker “The 2005 Valserrano Garnacha (100%) spent 16 months in French oak. Smoke, black cherry, cinnamon, and Provencal herbs inform the nose of this sweetly fruited, smooth-textured, layered Garnacha. It displays excellent volume and concentration as well as the structure to evolve for 2-3 years. Drink it from 2013 to 2020, perhaps longer.” Tanzer, “Saturated ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes red and dark berry preserves, incense and vanilla, with slow-building spiciness.
