Red Wine Hand-Picked Pre-Sell
92 Pts RP r Tasting Notes:

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: Bright violet. Deep aromas of cherry, black raspberry, garrigue and earth. Broad, spicy and sweet, with a velvety texture and lush dark berry and lavender pastille flavors. Finishes sappy and sweet, featuring fine-grained tannins and excellent thrust. This alluring wine looks like it will be approachable young. (Mar/Apr 11)

Robert Parker: When I tasted this wine the final assemblage had not yet been done by Claire Michel, who has now taken over the reins of this estate from her parents. It should be a blend of 80% or more of Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre. The potential blend I tasted appears to have lots of structure, a muscular style, a deep plum/ruby/purple-tinged color, intense licorice, garrigue, lavender, black currant and black cherry characteristics, medium to full body and elevated tannins in the finish. The cuvee, which has a slightly longer elevage than many of its peers, will benefit from the extra time given its serious structure at present. 93 Pts ST Tasting Notes:

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: Bright violet. 90 Pts Wine Spectator 90pts Spectator
A Spectacular Buy From Bordeaux’s Vintage Of A Lifetime
90 pts Spectator Under Thirty
This Is An Insane Buy

The 2009 vintage for Bordeaux is being heralded by the King of Bordeaux Robert Parker as the best ever. I am strongly recommending that all customers to acquire as much 2009 as they can. You will be thanking me for years to come as you enjoy the wines. Parker on 2009 Bordeaux, After spending nearly two weeks in Bordeaux at the end of January, this is unquestionably the greatest Bordeaux vintage I have ever tasted. He further commented, In short, 2009 is the greatest vintage I have tasted in Bordeaux since 1982, of which it is a modern day version, but greatly improved. This vintage now goes down with the greats, 1982, 1961 and 1945.
I have been able to secure a great price on one of the finest values I have tasted from the vintage. If you are going to buy any red wine this year, make it 2009 Bordeaux. All red wine lovers will be blown away by the fruit concentration, richness and accessibility the vintage possesses. The wine in question is the 2009 Chateau du Seuil from the Graves in Bordeaux. This is left bank Bordeaux, Cabernet based coming from the same appellation as the first growth Chateau Haut Brion. The wine was selected from an eight hectare parcel, soil comprising of river gravel and sand deposits with limestone, clay and iron pan, the perfect composition for great red wine from this region. The blend again is typical 50% Cabernet, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine spent 18 months in new and 1st fill small French oak and spent 6 months on its lees. The result is a glorious mouthful of red wine! Chateau de Seuil is family owned and all fruit is from the estate. Average age of vineyards is 40 years of age and 2009 was an exceptional vintage for the wine. I have now tasted well over one hundred wines from this great vintage and the 2009 du Seuil is definitely the most complete wine I have tasted for the price, the best wine I have tasted at the price. The wine got a stunning 90 pts by Wine Spectator at $24.99 which is a great revue at the price. We can do better! On this email by the case we can get it down to $19.99 which makes it an all-time great buy!

2009 was an exceptional vintage at du Seuil. Good acidity, concentrated, forward tannins and a complex, pleasant fruitiness. Multiple levels of flavor structure and integrated oak characters. Tender and expressive, this red offers aromatic berry and cherry notes, with coffee and tobacco undertones. Offers a broad texture, with well-integrated tannins and enough acidity to keep it lively. Drink now through 2019. 4,000 cases made. –TM 90pts Spectator
