Tasting Notes: 100% Sagrantino. Terre de Trinci’s vineyards sit in a bowl surrounded by the Apennine Mountains. The climate gets veryhot in the summer, cold in winter, but clay soils keep the roots cool as they seach for deep groundwater. The mountains provide cooling breezes especially at night. During blistering hot days the drying Tramontano breeze comes from the north. The growing season is lengthened by the Mediterranean giving a climate that results in a grape with lots of tannins yet also sweet, dark fruit. Immense and lush. Intense, dark ruby colour, the nose is rich with blackberry and hints of tobacco. A lush, sexy opulent palate ripe with black currants and blackberry, full and robust, deep and velvety in the mouth with benefit of nearly eight years of ageing. Winemaking at controlled temperature and maceration on skins for 15 to 20 days. Aged 12 months in new French oak barriques.
