Tasting Notes: This wine has a spicy bouquet layered with notes of cola, clove, black cherry, and sandalwood. The mid-palate is silky in texture, with flavors of red fruit, mineral, and a distinct earthiness that expresses the masculine attributes of the Rincon Vineyard. A heat wave occurred in early September in 2009 which resulted in excellent ripening. The quality of fruit was exceptional resulting in intense concentrated flavors. This pinot noir has a rich bouquet layered with earthy and deep black fruit aromas of black cherry, fig, and mushroom, with subtle hints of lavender. This medium-bodied pinot noir has a plush mouth feel with concentrated fruit flavors balanced by a fresh acidity.
