Tasting Notes: The finest quality for ports is vintage ports. They are only made in the very finest vintages and unlike other ports they age in the bottle over many years.There have been only four declared vintages of Port since 1997. Skeffingtons 1997 is a great example of delicious port that can be drunk with thirteen years in the bottle and starting to show itself. The number 7 is very lucky in vintage Port years because many of the best vintages end in seven: 1997, 1977, 1947, 1927 and 1917. 1997 was an excellent year that produced balanced, rich and structured ports. Skeffingtons shows delicious raspberries and hints of spice with delicious sweet fruit on the palate and a melt away dreamy finish.
