91 Pts ST <font color=red><strong>91 pts Tanzer </strong></font><br><font color=blue><strong>The Hottest Rose From Provence<br>Domaine Ott’s Winemaker<br>This Is What The Rich And Famous Are Drinking In The South Of France</strong></font><br>Rosé have become more popular then ever and have caught the imagination and the palates of wine lovers throughout the US in a big way. Last week Josh Reynolds of Steven Tanzer’s IWC did his exhaustive rosé report, tasting just under 300 wines from around the world. You can not believe how many of our customers have requested the top wines from the report. The two leading rosés in the world today are Domaine Tempier and Domaine Ott, both sell for around $40 a bottle and are very good. Today I offer you one of the top scoring wines from the tasting, equaling the score of Ott and getting one point less than Tempier. The wine is the 2010 Chateau Leoube Rosé which is one of the top thirteen wines scored by Tanzer, equaling the quality of the best at a far less price of $24.99. The wine is hard to get, only tiny amounts made it to the US, but I was lucky enough to have tasted it earlier this year and secured some for our customers. The wine will be ready to ship next week and I also enclose their white the 2010 Chateau Leoube Blanc, the wine is 85% Rol which is the same grape as Vermentino and the balance Semillon, a clean style white, impeccably well made and also perfect for summer. The wines are made by the same winemaker as the legendary rosé producer, Domaine Ott. Demand for Leoube in Europe is high and availability will always be difficult. This is as good as rosé gets.<br><br><b>Tasting Notes:</b>(a blend of predominantly cinsault and grenache, with bits of other varieties, all from old vines): Very pale peach skin color. Complex scents of orange pith, strawberry and candied lavender, along with a saline mineral underpinning. Silky in texture and seamless, with deep citrus and floral pastille flavors, intense minerality and impressive back-end lift. Develops a spicy character with air, which adds bite to the long, mineral-driven finish. I really like this lithe wine's power.
