Red Wine Hand-Picked 90 Pts RP r <b>Tasting Notes:</b> Chionetti Dolcetto showcases spicy and gripping red fruit with subtle hints of bitter chocolate that exude intense layers of flavor. Nuances of currant, ripe juicy strawberries and bright cherry’s give way to extremely firm tannins that leave a long lingering finish. While most dolcetto is meant to be drunk within 1-2 years, this can easily be enjoyed for another 3-5 years. It’s deliciously versatile for pairing foods including antipasti, and grilled meats. Chionetti has built a reputation on making Dolcetto with extreme structure and depth which is why we find this wine to be so superb. If you love easy drinking red wines with heaps of fruit forward flavor, subtle earthy undertones and a finish that will linger with delicate hints of mint, this is the wine for you.<br><br><b>Parker:</b> The 2009 Dolcetto di Dogliani San Luigi flows onto the palate with layers of gorgeous, ripe fruit. Violets, flowers and spices develop in the glass, but the San Luigi remains a soft, fruit-driven Dolcetto loaded with class and elegance.
