Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts Wine Spectator A thrilling seamless od Brunello.-Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate,Issue #137, October, 2001.
The Uccelliera estate was the part of the neighboring Ciacci Piccolomini estate until 1986,when Andrea Cortonesi purchased it.Two hectares adjacent to Ciacci's famous Pianrosso vineyard were recently added to the small property, bringing the total to a tiny six hectares. All work in the vineyard is done exclusively by hand. The Brunello from this estate os a huge hot year after year, featuring lush red fruits, velvety texture and incredible concentration. The 2001 Burunello Riserva was hailed as an impressive effort by the Wine Advocate. The basic 2001 Brunello was awarded a whooping 93 points from the Wine Spectator. The item regularly sells out-often brfore iteven hits our shores and is quickly becoming a cult wine. The Rosso is very limited in production featuring an unusually powerful nose and ripe, rich fruit. The tiny production Super-Tuscan Rapace, a 70% Sangiovese,20% Merlot,10% Cabernet, barrique aged blend, can easily be considered one of the best Super Tuscans from Montalcino.
Tasting Notes:Complex aromas of rose, blackberry, blueberry and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with wonderfully velvety tannins and focused, juicy, rich fruit. Long and intense. The finish shows berry, tobacco, toasty oak, berry and chocolate. Goes on and on. One of the wines of the vintage. Best after 2011. 1,890 cases made.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r The magnificent 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon The Core (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a selection of the estate’s finest barrels that is aged 24 months in 100% new French oak. Its inky/ruby/purple color is followed by dense blackberry and cassis flavors intermixed with hints of espresso roast, subtle oak, and lead pencil shavings. Layered, full-bodied, and elegant, it is one of the truly magnificent wines produced in 2006. Drink this classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon between 2012 and 2030+.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Vineyard (90% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot aged 20 months in 100% French oak) is a La Mission Haut-Brion look-alike. Burning ember, scorched earth, blackberry, smoked herb, and sweet cassis fruit characteristics are all present in this full-bodied, dense, concentrated offering. With a whopping finish as well as great balance and purity, it should drink well for 20+ years.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r Tasting Notes :Ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit flavors are syrupy and almost jammy, but retain enough acidity for balance in this plush, modern red. The big tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and spicy, mocha-tinged oak frames the fruit.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r Recioto is Valpolicella’s initial incarnation—a sweet wine that dates back to the Romans, who are credited with having developed the appassimento process (drying of the grapes). The sweetness derives from an arrested fermentation, a procedure that stops the conversion of sugar into alcohol, thereby leaving residual sugar. It is widely believed that Amarone emerged as the dry counterpart to Recioto when an unattended barrel of the latter fermented fully. For Giuseppe, like his father, the challenge of crafting Recioto represents a labor of love. Following the arrested fermentation, this wine’s vinification regimen follows the same protocol utilized for the Amarone.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r Tasting Notes :Certainly one of the vintage’s most colossal wines and clearly one of the estate’s greatest efforts, rivaling the 1989, 1990, and 2000, this wine, which tips the scales at 13% alcohol (the 1990 was 13.5%), has an amazingly opaque purple color to the rim, and a big, sweet, exotic nose of blackberry liqueur intermixed with acacia flower, creme de cassis, smoke, and hints of truffle and vanilla. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied, opulent, but offers surprising definition and finesse, which is something it was showing less of nine months ago. Brilliantly delineated in spite of its amazing concentration and unctuosity, this is a thrilling, exceptional effort that should prove to be a modern-day legend. I tend to think this wine will actually be approachable in 5-6 years but capable of lasting for at least three decades
