Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts WE Thomas Road Vineyard is located at the northeastern part of the Green Valley. Planted to clone Dijon 115 in 1997, this vineyard produces wine of dark berries with a bold firm mouth-feel. The vines planted on the rockier Sebastopol type soil historically produce wines of this consistent character. This fearless wine is defined as the “Big Brother” of our pinot noirs. Lovely aroma of fresh cherry tart. Red cherry and berry fruit is front and center with a touch of earthiness. Very supple in the mouth with well-concealed tannins and impeccable balance. More finesse and less persistence than the Karmen Isabella bottling, but very satisfying in its own right. Cellartracker average score 93.3 pts 95 points Wine Enthuisast:

Pre-Sell Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r Tasting Notes: The stunning 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80-100+ year old vines) gives some credibility to the vignerons’ arguments that in the drought-stricken 2009 growing season, the northern Chateauneuf du Pape parcels were less impacted than those in the south. Domaine La Milliere’s vineyards are all in the northern sector. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2009 possesses abundant blackberry, black cherry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of camphor, truffles, garrigue and licorice. Dense, thick and rich, it is potentially one of the few 2009 Chateauneuf du Papes that will eclipse its 2007 counterpart. An opulent, voluptuous texture, long finish and heady combination of herbs and super-concentrated fruit make for a wine that can be drunk upon release or cellared for 12-15 years.

Delivery End Of Year, Oct., Nov.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r Tasting Notes: The 2005 Calchetas is composed of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Malbec aged for 19 months in 500-liter French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it delivers a complex perfume of pain grille, mineral, earth, spice box, black currant, and black cherry. Bordering on opulent, with layers of ripe, sweet fruit and great balance, this full-flavored effort needs 4-6 years of additional cellaring to reveal its full potential. It will be at its best from 2015-2030.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r Tasting Notes: This wine has a spicy bouquet layered with notes of cola, clove, black cherry, and sandalwood. The mid-palate is silky in texture, with flavors of red fruit, mineral, and a distinct earthiness that expresses the masculine attributes of the Rincon Vineyard. A heat wave occurred in early September in 2009 which resulted in excellent ripening. The quality of fruit was exceptional resulting in intense concentrated flavors. This pinot noir has a rich bouquet layered with earthy and deep black fruit aromas of black cherry, fig, and mushroom, with subtle hints of lavender. This medium-bodied pinot noir has a plush mouth feel with concentrated fruit flavors balanced by a fresh acidity.

This year there is huge demand for the spectacular Southern Rhone's from 2010. The great wines from the Southern Rhone are the Chateauneuf du Papes and people in the know are clamoring/lining up for the best Chateauneufs from this incredible vintage. Parker himself tastes the Southern Rhone and he has declared 2010 a GREAT VINTAGE with some producers commenting that their 2010's will eclipse their 2007's. Parker comments that, I can't remember a vintage so concentrated, powerful and rich...Weather conditions were near perfect. The 2010's will have significant aging potential, they have excellent tannic structures. The tannins however are sweet, supple with exceptional elegance and finesse. The Southern Rhone is offering an embarrassment of riches and more and more wine lovers are beating down the door to get these outstanding wines. There is one massive problem with this great vintage. The crop was very small, 30 to 40% of all Grenache grapes were lost, the dominant grape varietal in the Southern Rhone. This was due to a viticulture problem, the French call coulure and millerandage which results in uneven berry size and different levels of grape maturity. If in a normal year let say 1000 cases of a wine are made, in 2010 only 500 to 700 cases were made. Availability of these great wines is going to be a definite problem.Domaine Brusset are top four producer in Gigondas, an Appelation not as famous as Chateauneuf du Pape but the best are every bit as good but at a much lower price. This important domaine has vineyards spread throughout the southern Rhone, primarily in Gigondas and its neighboring villages. Domaine Brusset was among the first estates to introduce small barrels (barriques) for aging their top cuvee, the old vine Les Hauts de Montmirail. After an extravagant use of wood in the early days, they have gotten the marriage between wood and fruit to a nearly ideal point. We have three of their finest wines in the 2010 vintage that have got massive scores at low prices. This is a Pre-Sell.
Tasting Notes:Absolutely spectacular, and one of the candidates for wine of the vintage in Gigondas, the 2010 Gigondas Les Hauts de Montmirail boasts beautifully integrated oak along with luxurious richness, and a dense, creme de cassis, kirsch and blackberry-scented nose with subtle smoke and burning embers in the background. Deep and full-bodied with good acidity and moderately high tannins, this opaque purple-colored 2010 requires 3-4 years of cellaring and should keep for 12-15+ years.

PRE-SELL DELIVERY SPRING

Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r I am a huge fan of Napa Cab and one of my all-time favorites over the last ten years has just become available in the classic 2007 vintage. The 2007 vintage for Napa Cabernet is truly spectacular. Parker has given the vintage the highest rating he has ever given a vintage and Spectator has declared 2007 the Vintage Of The Decade. I have tasted all the best that have come through and the Cabernets are exquisite, definitely as good as 1994, superbly rich and opulent, excellent structure, wonderful fruit but not over the top matched with superb elegance, balance and finesse. The Cabernet that captures all this brilliantly well and at a reasonable price is the 2007 Anderson's Conn Valley Cabernet Reserve. Year in year out this is one of the wines I look most forward to. The wine is always superb and in 2007 it just hits another gear. Todd Anderson came to Napa in the mid 1980's and has marched to his own drum ever since. He picks late and goes for optimal ripeness and in 2007 the grapes were historically rich and intense. Now in bottle the result is a benchmark Cabernet Reserve. Parker loves the wine, 95+ points and lavishes the wine with praise. Andersons Conn Valley Cabernet Reserve is also recognized as one of the most age worthy of them all. A recent tasting was held of this wine from the 1990's and the wines were just hitting their stride but what's even better is that with this incredible vintage and the gorgeous fruit concentration, the 2007 is drinking brilliantly young as well.

Pure creme de cassis intertwined with floral and licorice notes are present in the inky/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Rich, full-bodied, and meant for long-term aging, it should hit its peak in 7-8 years, and evolve for 25-30 years. These brilliant 2007s are some of the strongest efforts that have emerged from Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards over the last decade.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r Tasting Notes: The 2006 Barolo Garblet Sue’ is massively tannic and powerful. As always, it is a taut, sinewy Barolo, but in 2006 the Garblet Sue’ is even more backward than is typically the case. Bright red fruit, smoke, tar, incense and iron are just some of the nuances that come together in this focused, potent Barolo. With air the frame fills out to some extent, but patience is the key. Brovia’s Garblet Sue’ is made from the Bricco Fiasco vineyard, just up the hill from the winery. Anticipated maturity: 2021-2036.

The 2006 Barolo Garblet Sue possesses a deep, penetrating core of bright red fruit, enshrouded by a potent wall of tannins. There is terrific density and richness in the glass, all kept in check by the linear focus that is the hallmark of Barolos from the Bricco Fiasco vineyard. This, too, is from Castiglione Falletto, but like the two preceding wines in this line-up, the Garblet Sue’ speaks with its own distinct voice. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031.

Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts ST This is made by what many consider the Masters of Malbec from Mendoza. Brothers Hector and Pablo Durigutti. They became famous with their work with Alberto Atonini (Of Antinori and Frescobaldi) at Altos Las Hormigas, the wines that put Malbec from Argentina on the map in the late nineties. With extensive training in Europe including Antinori. They are the countries most sought after consulting enologists for the likes of Rutini; Catena and Cinco Tierras. Durigutti is their own boutique project and this is wine the Familia is their flagship wines. This wine is recognized as one of the greatest coming out of Mendoza. The wine comes from two of the greatest vineyard sites in Mendoza that have some of the oldest vines in the region. Vineyards were planted in the 1940’s. One from Maipo (The Lulunta Vineyard) and one from San Carlos (The La Consulta Vineyard) Only 250 cases of the wine were made and are extremely rare.

Tasting Notes: Super ripe aromas of cassis, chocolate mint, graphite and sexy oak; reminded me of a Napa cabernet. Lush and broad, with a restrained sweetness and enticing minty lift to the flavors of cassis, licorice and minerals. Sexy oak and inner-mouth floral character add complexity.

This is Vatican’s special luxury Cuvee and where the Diffonty family only normally make about 2000 cases of this, in 2010 this is way down. The fruit is sourced from the finest vineyards from the family’s major holdings in La Crau (clay and rocky soils), the Rayas terroir (Pure sand) and the Barbe d’Asne (clay soils). The Diffonty’s are among the oldest estate bottles in Chateauneuf and are legends of the Appellation. Parker sais the 2010’s are one of the finest vintages the Diffonty family has yet made. This wine is absolutely stunning combining power with finesse, superb dark fruits, smoky plum and black currants and like all great Rhone’s will drink superbly young but with this pedigree can be enjoyed over the next twenty years. Because of the small size of the vintage and the insane quality, this wine is being sold on a pre-sell. It is aged half in large wood foudres and the other half in 600-litre demi-miuds. This wine may turn out to be their best since their debut release of this cuvee in 1990. Full-bodied, with notes of kirsch, incense, black currant, cassis, plum, fig, and roasted Provencal herbs as well as some meaty juices, the wine is layered, dense, sexy, decadently rich and powerful, but incredibly well-balanced because of the freshness of the fruit in this vintage. This wine should age magnificently for 20+ years..

Sadly, as with most of the worlds most majestic wines, production is relatively limited, and the demand is insatiable.”Robert Parker
Over the past decade Jean-Paul Daumen has emerged as one of the most compelling winemakers in all of France. Taking advantage of his ancient vines in the Northern sector of Chateauneuf, and biodynamically farming the entire vineyard, he has produced extraordinary wines dating back to 1998 that have massive acclaim for the world’s most respected critics. Average age of vines are 60 years. His winemaking philosophy is quite simple- old vines, tiny yields, no SO2 during vinification, neutral or tank and no fining or filtration. His wines are benchmarks from the appellation. He only releases his wines when he feels they are ready. Until 2001 This cuvee was marked as VV.

Parker: “The exquisite, deep purple-colored 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape boasts an exceptional bouquet of black currants, creosote, kirsch, spring flowers, pepper, and tobacco leaves. It is fabulously rich, expansive, glorious pure, full-bodied, long, and deep. Sweetness from high glycerin and rich fruit nearly conceals some formidable tannins in the finish. This wine should evolve and last for over two decades.”

Spectator: “Showing beautifully, with intense fig, black currant and boysenberry fruit and dark chocolate, date bread, spice and mineral notes. This is both powerful and pure at the same time, with a superlong finish. Seriously structured. Drink now through 2030.” 94 Pts Wine Spectator 95 pts Parker;94 pts Spectator
Pre Sell Arriving in July Selling for as high as $115 a bottle.

Tasting Notes: “I can not recommend these wines highly enough.
