Red Wine Hand-Picked 95 Pts RP r <b>95+ Points Parker Priced Up To $150 <p>Tasting Notes:</b> This is a wine for readers with incredibly long life-expectancies as it possesses the power and longevity associated with many pre-phylloxera, 19th century wines of Bordeaux. Like so many of the small St.-Emilion estates, there are no compromises at Clos de Sarpe. The 2005 was hand-harvested from yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare, given a 55-day maceration, and aged in a combination of new wood. It will be bottled unfiltered. The wine achieved 14+% alcohol naturally. This opaque purple-colored, massive, ferociously tannic offering reveals scary concentration levels, huge dry extract, and technical numbers that are off the charts. Despite its impressive credentials, size, richness, and overall balance, it will close down after bottling, and re-emerge 10-15 years later. My conservative guess is that this gigantic, colossal St.-Emilion will be drinkable around 2015-2020, and last for 40-50 years.

Pre-Sell Red Wine Hand-Picked 97 Pts RP r <B>Tasting Notes:</B> Two luxury cuvees include the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Quet (a perfect wine in 2007 and not far off that mark in 2009). A blend of 80% tank-aged Grenache and 20% small barrel-aged Mourvedre, it is a super-concentrated wine with layer upon layer of rich blackberry and kirsch notes intermixed with charcoal, incense, truffles and lavender. Very full-bodied with silky tannins, a multilayered mouthfeel as well as a stunning 40+ second finish, this killer Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the vintage’s great stars. It should drink well for two decades.The brother and sister team of Daniel and Christine Chaussy has been on top of its game for many years. Their greatest wines to date, the 2007s, have been followed by brilliant performances in 2009 as well as the excellent Chateauneuf du Papes made in the challenging 2008 vintage.

Wines are made by rock-star winemaker Mike Hirby who is now making wines for some of Napa’s finest: Realm, DR Stephens, Husic, Saroka and Winter Wines. Only 10 cases of the wine made it to the state. 2008 in Napa Valley yielded Cabernet Sauvignon with stunning upfront fruit and unctuous textures, If the vineyard was managed with extreme attention to detail. We were careful and lucky enough to have done the work needed and now find ourselves with a gorgeous wine to present to you. The aromatics are ripe and fruity, with sweet spice and chocolate notes not far behind. Red Wine Hand-Picked 91 Pts Wine Spectator <b>Tasting Notes :</b>Lupicaia, which means ”place of the wolf hunts,” is a vineyard of 12.5 acres planted 90 percent to Cabernet Sauvignon vines and ten percent to Merlot vines planted in 1989. This is the estate’s finest microclimate and yields its best grapes. Exposure is on south-southwest-facing slopes in soils consisting of stones and sand which are sheltered by eucalyptus trees. The Terriccio estate’s position also enjoys this microclimate’s proximity to the coast which subjects it to maritime influences which create a long, warm growing season of great luminosity. The grapes are hand-harvested and hand-selected between mid-September and early October, with pickers making two consecutive passes through the vineyards to permit the fullest and most perfect ripening of the clusters .Tasting Notes: This wine's dense, highly extracted cassis and black cherry flavors and aromas are punctuated by distinct notes of cedar, smoke and forest, set in a ripe, firmly focused tannic structure ending in an elegant, sustained finish.
