Intense, complex nose opens slowly to offer accurate vari etal aromas of green apple, minerals, thyme and a hint of mint. Apple, nectarine, menthol and saline flavors emerge on the palate, with strong, bright acids giving them laser-like precision. Finishes very long and youthfully lean, with lingering flavors of lemon, pine needles and powdered stone. Clelia Romano's Fiano is always a high-acid wine, but this will need even more time than usual to show what it's got: put it away for at least 12 to 24 months and then enjoy for another 8 to 10 years after that. One of the few Italian whites that really ages well.<p><b>Tasting Notes-Spectator:</b>Fabulous complexity, with lemon, mineral and green apple character. Medium-bodied, with a balance of acidity and a long, flavorful finish. Almost off-dry. A beauty.

Purple-colored, the wine offers up an alluring nose of toasty oak, mineral, floral notes, blueberry, and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, ripe, layered wine with superb integration of oak, tannin, and acidity. There is enough structure to support 3-5 years of evolution in the cellar. This outstanding effort should be at its best between 2012 and 2025.<p><b>Tasting Notes -Tanzer : </b> Inky purple. Sharply focused raspberry and blackberry scents are complemented by fresh flowers, licorice and graphite. Crisp and poised, offering intense, finely focused red and dark fruit flavors, and impressively silky texture and fully absorbed tannins. Fresh and energetic on the long, spicy finish. Impeccably balanced, with firm tannins. Flavors run deep and are long and persistent on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Best from 2007 through 2013.<p><b>Tasting Notes-Connoisseurs Guide </b>Guide: Rich, decently fruity if a little tight and brooding in cast despite its medium-intensity, this wine smells of black cherries, caramel and touches of sweet loam, and its nicely focused flavors offer both depth and richness that overreach the tightening tannins looming in teh background. There is a ripe, robust quality about the wine even now, but it will show itself more fully with bottle age and will also pick up some very useful softening and polish if held for three to six years more.
