Cult-Sourced Parker’s Highest Rated Napa Vintage
Vintage 2007 Napa Valley has turned out to be one that totally lives up to the hype. Its Bordeaux varietals, especially Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, have proved equal to Wine Spectator’s” Vintage Of The Decade” acclaim and Robert Parker’s 96 point rating, his highest ever for the region in his thirty-four years of wine reviews in The Wine Advocate. We have now tasted through hundreds of 2007’s from Napa and come away still stating that for the money and double or even triple its price, 2007 Marley The Blend is a sublime and incredible wine. Just back in stock, this 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot Bordeaux Left Bank-style blend from undisclosed, famed hillside source vineyards is a phenomenon and a phenomenal wine. The famed vineyards along the Oakville-Rutherford bench supply grapes for a Top Three Napa Cab that defines Cult. Blended with Merlot from Napa’s Chiles Valley and Carneros grapes, it delivers a bouquet of currants, cedary oak, black cherries, ripe plums, aged leather and anise which introduce a palate of concentrated, succulent 2007 blackberry fruit, rich cherry and plum with supple tannins and a lingering finish. Hundreds of cases of this wine’s Cabernet Sauvignon stable mate have flown out of our doors. Now the record is about to be challenged. We can’t guarantee the wine will remain around for long with this offer on the table. Make sure 2007 Marley The Blend is on your table, in your glass. It’s already sold out under another higher-priced label, so all we can stay is The Clock Has Started.
Tasting Notes:65% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% Merlot. Cabernet is sourced from famed vineyards along the Oakville-Rutherford bench that supply grapes for a top three Napa Cab that defines Cult. Half the Merlot is derived from a relatively cool region Carneros vineyard, the balance from Napa’s Chiles Valley, adding layers of rich fruit to the palate. Chiles Valley's is very narrow and runs from southeast to northwest. Its surrounding ridges are so steep that grapes are only grown on the valley floor. The small berry clusters and intense fruit from low-yielding vines create a wine with full flavour and longevity. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon/ 35% Merlot. Sumptuous elegance with concentration, depth and complexity. Compelling richness. Sweet cherry, ripe plum, cedary oak, hints of vanilla and overtones of anise and aged leather appear in the aroma. On the palate, this generous wine features cherry, plum and blackberry fruits rich and concentrated with supple, firm tannins underlying the wine's elegant core providing balance, leading to a long, lingering finish.
