Tasting Notes:The 2007 vintage for the Southern Rhone is one of the finest ever. Robert Parker comments that it is the best vintage he has tasted from the region in the thirty plus years he has tasted Southern Rhones. In fact he goes on to say that it is possibly the finest vintage he has tasted from a specific region period. Mid Slope is made by the famous Maison Arnoux et Fils who own 40 hectares in the appellation of Rasteau. This wine under the Arnoux Label is selling for anywhere between $25-$40. At $18.99 this wine is spectacular buy from this great vintage.

Old vines make the best red wine. This Grenache based blend exhibits the dense purple color, chewy, sweet floral fruit of old vine Grenache, with wonderful texture and an almost inky richness as well as tremendous intensity and length. If this wine were from Chateauneuf du Pape, it would probably sell for two or three times the price. It is a brilliant wine that probably won't hit its peak for another 2-3 years and last for 15 or more.
