Marsala is another marvelous sweet wine, heralding from the beautiful island of Sicily.

Methods for Creating Italian Sweet Wines

The most popular method for creating the satisfying sweet flavors in Italian wine is called recioto.

This involves drying the grapes indoors after they are picked to increase the sugar content. The best example of this method is Vin Santo, a classic Tuscan dessert wine revered the world over.

For the absolute greatest example of Italian sweet wines, however, find yourself a Greco di Bianco and prepare to be wooed.
