Tasting Notes: The 2009 vintage for red Burgundy is a definitely stunning. We last got this wine in with the 2005 vintage another great year and the wine at the price developed superbly and proved to be a great value. I tasted the wine with Patrice Ollivier vigneron, winemaker on Thursday 5/19/11 and the wine has what it takes. Ollivier is very proud of the wine. It is a monopole vineyard planed in 1946 and it takes the yield of four vines for him to make one bottle of wine. We are talking seriously low yields and great old vines. The result is a wine with superb intensity and density of flavor. Burg lovers take note of this wine at the price.
