Tasting Notes: 100% Malbec. Finca Abril is located in "La Consulta" in Valle de Uco, in the mid-west of the Province of Mendoza. La Consulta is a late-ripening spot in Mendoza and therefore one of the two strongest regions for the 2008 vintage. Finca Abril’s vineyards were first planted in 1922, Malbec vineyards total13 hectares. Hand harvested in March and April, aged for twelve months, this 100% Malbec has a nose of roasted meat, dark chocolate, ripe blackberry and soft, rounded mouthfeel with dark, deep-dish plum pudding, chocolate and soft blackberry fruit on the palate. The structure makes ageability apparent but tannins notably soften in the glass.
