Known primarily for creating an outstandingly well-balanced and delicious merlot, Duckhorn Vineyards also became one of the most recognizable California labels.

Nestled deep in the heart of Napa Valley, Duckhorn has risen as a powerhouse winery in a land blessed with fertile soil and an ideal climate.

The merlot grape deserves a stand-alone reputation as a distinguished and delicious fruit. Merlot wines aren't as complex as their cabernet counterparts, but maintain a fruity, slightly sweeter finish. They lack the vibrant, full-bodied structure of other red grapes, but instead offer a smoother, less dramatic yet highly sophisticated flavor.

The esteemed reputation of Duckhorn Vineyards has helped keep merlot on the gourmet map, giving it due credit in a world often dominated by the mighty cabernet.

Duckhorn Vineyards also produces notable cabernet and a small amount of blends, but merlot is by far their darling.

It's located on 95 acres of gorgeous Napa scenery and produces almost 30,000 cases of wine a year. Over 75 percent of all the wine produced is red, with the majority of that total falling in the merlot category.
