95 Pts RP r 95 pts Parker;94 pts Spectator
Pre Sell Arriving in July Selling for as high as $115 a bottle.

Tasting Notes: “I can not recommend these wines highly enough. Sadly, as with most of the worlds most majestic wines, production is relatively limited, and the demand is insatiable.”Robert Parker
Over the past decade Jean-Paul Daumen has emerged as one of the most compelling winemakers in all of France. Taking advantage of his ancient vines in the Northern sector of Chateauneuf, and biodynamically farming the entire vineyard, he has produced extraordinary wines dating back to 1998 that have massive acclaim for the world’s most respected critics. Average age of vines are 60 years. His winemaking philosophy is quite simple- old vines, tiny yields, no SO2 during vinification, neutral or tank and no fining or filtration. His wines are benchmarks from the appellation. He only releases his wines when he feels they are ready. Until 2001 This cuvee was marked as VV.

Parker: “The exquisite, deep purple-colored 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape boasts an exceptional bouquet of black currants, creosote, kirsch, spring flowers, pepper, and tobacco leaves. It is fabulously rich, expansive, glorious pure, full-bodied, long, and deep. Sweetness from high glycerin and rich fruit nearly conceals some formidable tannins in the finish. This wine should evolve and last for over two decades.”

Spectator: “Showing beautifully, with intense fig, black currant and boysenberry fruit and dark chocolate, date bread, spice and mineral notes. This is both powerful and pure at the same time, with a superlong finish. Seriously structured. Drink now through 2030.” 94 Pts Wine Spectator 95 pts Parker;94 pts Spectator
Pre Sell Arriving in July Selling for as high as $115 a bottle.

Tasting Notes: “I can not recommend these wines highly enough. PATRICK LESEC GIGONDAS CUVEE ROMAINE Reg. Price $44.99

Red Wine Hand-Picked
92 Pts RP r 92 pts Parker
Tasting Notes: Great wines are made in all vintages and Lesec’s Gigondas Cuvee Romaine 2006 is recognized as the finest he has made and is a spectacular example of Gigondas. The Gigondas appellation is the second most famous after Chateauneuf du Pape in the Southern Rhone. Many are as good if not better than Chateauneuf and they offer far better value. This wine cannot be touched in quality by any Chateauneuf under Fifty dollars a bottle. I love what Parker says about the wine: I was seduced by Lesec’s 2006 Gigondas Cuvee Romaine Les Espalines. It has more acidity than the 2005, but also more charm, fruit, and ripeness. A pretty wine with good tannin, minerality, black cherries, and herbs, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-12 years.

Bright red. Energetic strawberry and raspberry scents complicated by rose, lavender and baking spices. Tightly wound red fruit flavors fatten and deepen with air, picking up light tannins and finishing with excellent persistence. Combines sweetness and grip with a deft hand. The wine is 65% Grenache; 25% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah from 50+ year old vines. Covered with layers of small white stones, these lovely hillside vineyards in Gigondas have an ancient history dating back to the Romans.
