Tasting Notes: Bourgogne Aligote has been one of our favoritevalue Burgs for the last few years This wine is whistleclean, bright, and lemon-yellow in colour. The fresh, lively, stone-fruit aromas carry well onto the round, rich supple palate; the finish is long, mineral and expressive.The 2009 has a lovely racy, pulpy, aromatic personality with lime, smoke, salt aromas and flavours. The only thing this has in common with other Aligote you may have tasted is the brightness. Otherwise it stands alone as one of the finest examples of this grape from Burgundy. Make no mistake, Aligote can be outstanding when it comes from the right soils and from old vines. The grapes are sourced from a Vineyard just below and contiguous to Mersault. From 30 year old vines.
