Tasting Notes: The 2005 vintage was exceptional. A cool December limited the fruit set, then a warm Summer and Autumn allowed the fruit to fully ripen, yet retain classic acidity. The Discovery grapes were harvested selectively from April 6 through 25. This is a terrific wine to launch the Discovery series. The lifted aromatics are of citrus and passion fruit, which amplify generously into flavors of fresh melon and tropical fruits. The body is firm, but the fruit is racy, so fasten your seat belt. All this combines in a long, focused finish, with a defining mineral note.
