Tasting Notes: I tasted this wine last week and it blew me away. We all know how great the 2009 vintage for Bordeaux is. Well I am glad to report that the 2009 vintage for Burgundy is also a definite classic. The wines are spectacular and I have been eagerly awaiting something of great quality to recommend to show how great this vintage is and this is the wine. The Didier Delagrange Puligny Montrachet is spectacular. The first shipment that arrived in US, we did not get a single bottle. The whole allocation was snapped up by the top Restaurants in Manhattan. The Delagrange coat of arms dates back to 1570 in Burgundy. They have owned vineyards in Burgundy since that time forward. A bouquet of white peach, and sweetly-perfumed lily and gardenia. The heady floral perfume wafts onto the polished, plush palate along with luscious orchard fruits and diverse citrus. The wine is irresistible and impeccably pure. I love white burgundy and this wine is gorgeous white burgundy.
