Grapes are destemmed, hand-sorted, crushed, pumped into stainless-steel tanks, left for five days before pressing and aged in barrel for 20 months, 45% in new French oak and the balance in older barrels. The result is a wine that is age-worthy for 5-10 years, bone-dry yet exhibits a lovely sweet fruit on the palate with a long, firm finish.<p>

White Wine Hand-Picked 92 Pts RP r <font color = blue><strong>A Chenin Blanc Dry White Table wine from South Africa</strong></font><br><br><b>Tasting Notes:</b>Aged for 12 months in the same oak regime as the regular Chenin Blanc with the fruit picked a little riper, the 2010 Reserve Chenin Blanc has a well-defined bouquet with very well integrated oak and hints of hazelnut and spice. It has a very well balanced palate with powerful citrus fruits laced with lemon curd, orange essence, apricot and brioche that dovetail into a precise finish. This Chenin comes highly recommended, especially for the price. Drink now-2017+<br>Whilst I have enjoyed more than my fair share of legendary Bordeaux wines, Ken Forrester provides a pertinent reminder that great Cabernet can be made for under ten-dollars. You could count the number of Bordeaux chateaux offering equivalent QPR on one finger. This, and the rest of his portfolio represent everything that can be achieved in South Africa: cleanly made, expressive wines at unbeatable prices interspersed with one of two flagship wines that mean business. If you have never tried South African wine before, then I cannot think of a better place to start than here.
