92 Pts RP r The Legend Of Calera Continues
Josh Jensen Does It Again
Calera is one of the most compelling Pinot Noir specialists of not only the New World but of planet Earth- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

Josh Jensen knows Pinot Noir. After 35 years as a stalwart of Cali’s Central Coast, the San Francisco born Yale and Oxford rower who began his wine journey in France in 1970 working the harvests of elite Burgundy Domaines Romanee-Conti and Dujac, has separate Winemaker of the Year and Winery of the Year accolades to his credit. The success of the wines from his Calera Winery, started in 1975, was the engine behind the 1985 creation of the Mt Harlan AVA with its unique-for-California limestone soils that are a key element in producing the great wines of Burgundy. His single vineyard wines like Selleck, Jensen, Mills and Reed are some of the finest California Pinot Noirs ever made. He also makes one of the all-time great values in Pinot Noir and with his 2010 Calera Pinot Noir 35th Anniversary bottling of this wine. He just hit it out of the park. The wine is a blend of his great single vineyards listed above and the 2010 is gorgeous. Parker rated the wine 90 pts or more (2009 got 92pts) three years running which is huge for a Pinot under thirty. He has not rated 2010 yet but the Wine Spectator absolutely flipped for the wine giving it a monster 93 pts. No Pinot Noir listed even came close to this score and at a price of between $25 and $30. Now on this email and for a very short time I can offer you this insane value for $22.99 while supplies last. The ability to make Pinot Noir of this Caliber at this price is extremely rare. The wine is spectacular from start to finish. Complex, glorious texture, silky and long. Great wood and fruit interplay. This is a WOW from one of the proven and most storied Pinot Noir producers there is.

Thirty-Fifth Anniversary Vintage: A wonderful, full gentle bouquet of red plum, berries, rose petal and mineral accents lively flavors of blackberry, raspberry and sassy sour cherry. This wine offers great depth, spice, a hint of sweet oak and beautiful texture with very fine-grained tannins and a soft, round, easy drinking mouthfeel that lingers on leaving you wanting another taste. Awarded 93 points by the Wine Spectator: A classy art-of-the-blend cuvée that’s very ripe but still complex, relying on rich dark berry, plum, crushed rock and cedar. So young and vibrant at this stage, yet also so deep and tight, that it’s both tempting to drink now but looks like a great cellar choice as well. Drink now through 2021. 93 Pts Wine Spectator The Legend Of Calera Continues
Josh Jensen Does It Again
Calera is one of the most compelling Pinot Noir specialists of not only the New World but of planet Earth- Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

Josh Jensen knows Pinot Noir.
