If you love Alto Moncayo, you will flip for this wine. This is old vine Grenache which is extremely rare in Rioja. Big rich, opulent and massivey concentrated. Parker “The 2005 Valserrano Garnacha (100%) spent 16 months in French oak. Smoke, black cherry, cinnamon, and Provencal herbs inform the nose of this sweetly fruited, smooth-textured, layered Garnacha. It displays excellent volume and concentration as well as the structure to evolve for 2-3 years. Drink it from 2013 to 2020, perhaps longer.” Tanzer, “Saturated ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes red and dark berry preserves, incense and vanilla, with slow-building spiciness.
