The 2001 Eloge appears to possess outstanding potential. It reveals the vintage's seamlessness, opulence, and dense viscosity along with extraordinary fruit intensity and gorgeous aromas of candied blackberry and cassis fruit, spice box, cedar, and tobacco. It is ripe and full-bodied, with an unctuous mid-palate. This wine should prove to be the best Eloge since the 1997. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020.
